Just For Kids

Guilford Agricultural Society is giving kids a chance to share their thoughts on the importance of agriculture in Connecticut.

Any child entering grades one through eight this fall in any Connecticut town may enter. The topic is “Where Does My Food Come From?” This may or may not include something about the Guilford Fair. Original photos and/or artwork that illustrate the story are optional but encouraged.

Winners in three essay contest categories will read their stories on the main stage at the fair. Winners will receive age-appropriate awards and win family four-packs of tickets to the fair

Grades 1 to 3: A 100-word maximum essay.

Grades 4 to 6: A 200- to 300-word essay.

Grades 6 to 8: A 300- to 500-word essay.

All entries must be received by regular mail or e-mail by Sept. 12. Email to Larry@inaflashstudio.com subject: Guilford Fair Essay Contest or mail to Guilford Fair Essay Contest, In a Flash Studio 1250 Boston Post Road Guilford, CT 06437. Winners will be notified by Sept. 13, and all entries will be on display during the Guilford Fair, Sept. 19 through 21.
