The other day I checked out my library which has been building up over the years and realized just how few books I have read over the years, and how many books remain to be read!! I’m going to have to make a determined effort to read faster – maybe I should sign up for a speed reading course lol.

Confession time. I’ve been neglecting my creative writing of late – spent a lot of time reading forums and blogging but I haven’t really done much on the creative side. It’s strange, because I’m still getting loads of ideas for stories that I have in progress, but I just never find the time to actually put pen to paper to write some fiction.

Maybe it is time that I shuffled my diary and started saving time for these things specifically!

Is your club or organization running a creative writing contest? If you are then we want to hear from you. We will promote your contest here on ABC Writers Network absolutely free of charge – no strings attached.

Each year local creative writing groups promote creative writing competitions: poetry, prose, script – whatever. Most promote the contests to raise funds; and these sort of contests are very good fund raisers, if people know about them.

Unfortunately if you are not on the first two pages of Google for the term creative writing contest you will stand little chance of been picked up and that will greatly reduce the number of entries you receive, and that means less revenue.

That’s where we come in. Every day we try to post new writing competitions we hear about, and because our Blog is active and is visited every day by hundreds of people we are number two in Google UK for the term creative writing contest and that means our site is seen.

We’d like to advertise your contest, completely free of charge. No strings attached, all we need is an email from your to kevin@abcwritersnetwork.co.uk setting out the name of your contest, the prize offered, rules, website if any, the closing date and of course where the entry should be sent.

There are a few exceptions. We will not advertise ‘adult’ contests – this is a family friendly site. We will not advertise any kind of fake contest ie a contest where the main purpose is to get money from the entrant, and there is no financial reward to the author. If we inadvertently post one of these contest please let us know and it will be removed.

Due to the risk of virus we will not open any attachments. Just enter the full details of your contest into the body of the email, we’ll do the tidying up. For editorial purpose we do of course retain the right the rearrange the material so it looks better on screen.

And finally we would be delighted if you would mention us on your Blog or Website – but that’s not a requirement, it’s entirely up to you. You can link to us by cutting and pasting the following code into your Website or Blog

<a href=http://www.abcwritersnetwork.co.uk>Competition News and Advice for Creative Writers</a>

And here is what it will look like Competition News and Advice for Creative Writers Or just give us a mention.
