Debt Free - Poems To Inspire
Inspired by a poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar called The Debt, Talk About Debt are running a poetry competition to find this century’s ‘Debt Poem’.
One of the biggest issues people in debt face is acceptance. Often people bury their heads in the sand, but once they do reach out for help they find there is a way out, there is a future where being debt free is a reality as opposed to a pipe dream.
The need for words that inspire action and optimism have never been so great with repossessions and bankruptcies at a record high.
What type of poems are we looking for?
Poems about accepting you’re in debt and the need to take positive actions to become debt free
Poems about not hiding from problems and asking for help
Poems about the different debt solutions available
All other inspirational ‘Debt Free’ ideas welcome
The first prize for the best and most inspiring poem is £300.
Second Prize is £200, and Third Prize £100.
Deadline 31 October
