If you are a published author then The Sunday Times is where you should be looking. They have just launched a prestigious new short story contest in collaboration with EFG Private Bank.

Only entries from writers who have been published in the UK or Ireland are been accepted. To make sure there is no cheating entrants must include a list of their most recently published work including the publisher, date of publication and ISBN or ISSN.

The prize is not to be snitched at the will will receive £25,000 and that makes the prize the largest for any individual short story not just in the UK but in the whole world!

In years to come authors will look back on this as been a major step forward for newcomers into the publishing scene and an oppertunity for them to stand out from the masses with a prize that could well be on par with the Booker Prize.

The closing date for entries is November 30, 2009.
