Cats Protection Writing Competition

by Kevin on February 6, 2009

Do you fancy yourself as a bit of an Agatha Christie, Salman Rushdie or Ogden Nash? Well, now’s your chance to put pen to paper and get those creative juices flowing once more as we launch the 2009 Cats Protection Writing Competition.

This year we have opened up the entry criteria to include both short stories and poetry, so whatever your preference, we’d like to read your creative masterpieces. Fact, fiction, adventure or romance – if you’ve got what it takes to capture our imaginations, you could win a fantastic prize and have your story published in The Cat magazine.

This year there will be just two catogories:

* Short Story
Incredible journeys, thrilling exploits or tangled love triangles. Whether it’s a tall tale or true tale we want you to make us laugh, cry or be amazed with your compelling cat capers.

* Poetry
Sonnet, limerick, haiku or rhyme – if you have an overwhelming urge to write an ode, we want to read your sparkling stanzas… forget dazzling doggerel, we want creative catterel!

There is no charge for entering the competition, but there is a suggested donation of £5 per entry to cover administration.
