Bellevue Literary Review Prizes in Fiction
The BLR announces the 2009 Bellevue Literary Review Prizes in Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry.
Bellevue Hospital, the oldest public hospital in the United States, has been witness to nearly 270 years of human drama. In this tradition they have created the Bellevue Literary Review, a forum for illuminating humanity and human experience.
BLR is published by the Department of Medicine at New York University. BLR are inviting submissions of previously unpublished works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry that touch upon relationships to the human body, illness, health and healing.
BLR encourage creative interpretation of these themes.
$1000 Magliocco Prize for Poetry judged by Naomi Shihab Nye
$1000 Goldenberg Prize for Fiction judged by Rosellen Brown
$1000 Prize for Nonfiction judged by Natalie Angier
